Tonight’s stream is gonna be some Dwarf Fortress, because:

1. It’s a good game
2. I keep forgetting the controls and I am determined to remember them this time
3. Because I think it’ll be mostly chill and I need some chill since work has been a bit much this week!

Sometimes I do simple sketches, but it feels good to add a bit of colour to them.

I’ve updated my user icon to use this one on the Fediverse.

I like making stuff for the stream more than I do actually streaming…

Some people have a Discord mention to ping when they go live.

I put my streams into my calendar service so you can import it into your calendar app like Thunderbird, or Google Calendar, or even Outlook if you really wanted to (why).

Copy the URL https://chaoticlaw.com/stream/schedule to your calendar app. Make sure that you use the “On the Network” option if you have it, else you’ll just see what I have currently on the calendar and it won’t auto-update!

(Of course this depends on my ability to start a stream on time, so we’ll see how that pans out…)

I took some time a while back to make representations of what I think the Metroid Fusion powerups would look like if they were items instead of exclusively downloads or X-Parasites. Mostly "hey they're upgraded from Super Metroid" since that's how the fake Morph Ball and unused Beam icons were! (As well as the Chozo Statue-X)

Could use some work, though- the missiles and Power Bombs are quite small for powerups, especially compared to the Tanks!

The SCAR in BattleBit Remastered is so disgusting???

I've landed so many headshots in it when I really didn't deserve to and it performs really well up to mid range that it sort of encroaches on the marksman riflesʼ territory but you get more rounds and you can go auto if you need it

This feels like a poor idea, but hey it isn’t Discord!

Some of the highlights (in no particular order):

• Bonzi Buddy!
• Being a princess and building a castle
• The world’s worst™ guessing game (45 ÷ 9 = 9 apparently)
• Happy Baby (the song) in a car racing game of all things?
• Sushi train theft
• Fin Fin (a very big Fin Fin)
• Pizza Time making a return!!!

That’s crazy!

Initial thoughts now I’ve had the Elgato Stream Deck Mk.2 for a few days:

1. USB connector to the device is Type-C which is great.
2. Less great is the 90° angle when it connects to the device. In its cradle, it has nowhere to go so the cable gets squashed—I can’t imagine it’s good for the cable’s life.
3. Having tactile buttons is great, and seeing the icon give you visual feedback (by zooming out then back in again) is fantastic.
4. The tactile buttons are rather mushy and don’t feel very satisfying to push. This I wasn’t expecting given the price.
5. Having an icon library to use out of the box is good because I can just get on with it rather than making more assets (though I do want to do that at some point).
