Initial thoughts now I’ve had the Elgato Stream Deck Mk.2 for a few days:
USB connector to the device is Type-C which is great.
Less great is the 90° angle when it connects to the device. In its cradle, it has nowhere to go so the cable gets squashed—I can’t imagine it’s good for the cable’s life.
Having tactile buttons is great, and seeing the icon give you visual feedback (by zooming out then back in again) is fantastic.
The tactile buttons are rather mushy and don’t feel very satisfying to push. This I wasn’t expecting given the price.
Having an icon library to use out of the box is good because I can just get on with it rather than making more assets (though I do want to do that at some point).
