I haven’t drawn anything other than technical drawings for probably a couple of years now, but a week ago my friend and I spent $3 on a box of crayons and then spent the whole evening taking it in turns drawing and it’s been so re-invigorating.

It feels kind of like the time I’d fallen out of love with photography; digging out a basic 35mm point-and-shoot for a holiday and having to get creative with the limited capabilities completely reignited the joy for me. I think being faced with creative limitations tends to inspire fun through pushing the boundaries of constraints.

So naturally I broke the crayons back out today to have a go at animating a two-frame gif in crayon (blatantly based on another gif whose artist I can’t track down!).
