Of course the first run I finish in #SuperMetroid with the new controller sets a new personal best
To be fair, I made a lot less errors playing that run, but we had some real nail-biting moments, including nearly getting Phantooned!
Getting closer to hitting the 1 hour mark, I just need some more practice!
Upgrading my #Pixelfed instance was pretty easy ngl
though one thing that stood out to me was that the instructions to upgrade were not immediately easy to find.
Wonder if itās worth suggesting that the upgrade instructions should be made available as a standalone page to help admins find it more easily?
Iāve been going through the #NeoLemmix Introduction Pack and the mechanics of the #Lemmings engine never ceases to amaze me. Like I wish I had this level pack 20 years ago to find out all the little tips and tricks that I could have used to get through the levels, instead of having to quit because it was too difficult for my small-dogged brain to comprehend.
Thereās also cool mechanical changes to the engine, like being able to select a lemming moving left or right, being able to step back and forward in time, and a physics mode that shows all of the terrain off so thereās no hidden surprises!
As for my own explorations, this Christmas Lemmings pack that I looked at on stream gave me some real troubleā this level took like an hour to solve after running into many brick walls, dropping the climber in the wrong location, and the fact that I had to save like 98% of Lemmings hurt me real bad lol
To be fair, most of the Lemmings soundtrack goes so good even the creator doesnāt want you to hear it in the VoD

Gonna splash up my just chatting screen instead of doing the sensible thing of getting follower alerts to appear on stream
Itās gonna be a fun addition for something youāll see for like less than 5 minutes in the entire stream lmao
My expensive mouse is a fidget toy for one reason, and that is the toggle button that unlocks the scroll wheel so you can just spin it and it goes
I find myself clicking it and it makes the noise and I idly toggle that switch even when I donāt need to
New on my website: the gallery! Now you can see all the art Iāve made and received in one spot!
I wondered how long itād take before we got ads in #Telegram.
The timeline (made from memory so itās probably not 100% accurate):
(edit: apparently this has been a thing in larger channels since 2021)
I got my avatar working in #Resonite!
Sure, it hasnāt had any optimisations applied to it but it works! I followed a tutorial to bring in the FBX mesh, then dragged in my textures to link them to the mesh bits like the tail and eyes. I set the sliders to the same value as with my VTuber model, then I applied some physics to the ears and tail.
I wish I knew how to optimise the model itself further (since I know performance is a sticking point for users) but for I guess itās good for now.

I did the thing
So I guess Iām a Vaporeon???
You can do the thing at https://event.designexpo.org.tw/en/
Someoneās goofed up their network security rules
This screenshot is from using the official Discord desktop app and appeared about 5 minutes ago when I got a error that messages were āunable to loadā and I tried restarting their Electron app
Anyway no need for panic since it returned to normal but a reminder that service is not guaranteed, so make sure to have alternative methods of reaching out to your friends or family.
We visited Warragamba Dam.
I donāt think the pictures really depict the scale of the dam that wellāitās really large. They didnāt open the main spillway this time, though I expect they might not for a while now that La NiƱa is finally on its way out.
An interesting aside is the non-standard speed limit road sign from the viewing platform (these are multiples of 10). I appreciate how they tried to match the current design though.
As a bonus, have a dog picture of Miller who spent his time wisely running around chasing birds in the yard while we were out, and was settled (a rare occurrence!) when we finally came home.
Mask up!
My first complete machine sewing project, a Florence face mask from the folks at freesewing.org!
This actually wasnāt the first maskāI had originally made one of these by hand about a couple of years ago when COVID flared up, but then one day it went missing and I thought to myself, āwhy not get a sewing machine and replace it?ā So I did!
As you can see, rather than 4 individual ribbons to secure it to my face, Iāve opted for 2 pieces of elastic that stretch behind my head, though Iāve had to tweak the length of the bottom piece in order for it to not feel too loose around the lower part of my face.
Nonetheless, being my first time with the sewing machine this took about a couple of hours of solid work, and maybe some cursing under my breath.
Still, it came out great and Iām feeling pretty good about doing more!

Our dog has a new bed, and he looks real comfy!
Iām pretty surprised actually at how long itās lastedāin the 18 months weāve had him, heās gone through so many beds since he had the need to put his teeth to work and tear into them. Most beds donāt last 5 minutes, so having it last these past couple of weeks is really good.
Unfortunately we havenāt been able to stop him from nicking the shoes, but heās not eating them at least.
